Here is my in-progress look at the star wars characters. The one on the top right needs the most work. Next, I will add more hair detail, eyelashes, and stuff like that. Overall, it looks good, but could be better.

Part 1 Paint a Series of Works

The picture is hard to see, but this is my idea. I am going to paint three characters from the Star Wars films. I will fix proportions and accuracy later as I convert the sketches to the canvas paper. I chose to do Star Wars characters because I enjoy the movies. I may change the poses to allow more detail or to adjust to my skill level.

For this assignment I wanted to do a quick mermaid picture. I really like how it turned out, but the face could use some work.

I was inspired by my two Pomeranians. I thought this would be cute to do. I'm really pleased with how this turned out.

So here is my finished piece. I like how it turned out. I would work on the tree and the canopy in the corners.

For this assignment I needed to draw something surrealism style. I ended up drawing a nature inspired girl. The dress represents both water and earth. The hair is wind. The headpiece is the sun.

I wanted to paint a little cafe on a street corner. I like how it's turning out so far. Next time I will add more detail.

So I usually draw cartoon-ish looking people, so this time I wanted to do something more real. I'm really proud of how it turned out.

A Painting with an Abstract Background and Realistic Foreground

For my whole painting I was inspired by spring. So for the abstract background I did a swirly blue and pink flowers. For the front I painted a bird.

So I decided to go outside and draw the view from my backyard. I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out, but I would add more detail and color if I could change it.

I was inspired by Cherry Tree Lane from the film Marry Poppins. There's a lot I could've done better. My perspective is a bit off, and I could've added more detail.

This was slightly hard for me, but overall I think it turned out nice. I mostly could've improved on the blending of the colors and the clouds. I am happy with the color scheme though.

I wanted to portray the beauty and warmth of autumn. It's my absolute favorite season. I love all the colors and smell. The candle and window is acrylic paints. The fall scenery is watercolors. If I were to change anything I would work harder on the acrylic parts.

I have a difficult time painting or drawing realistically, but I think I did a good job. I would defiantly take more time on the hair next time and try to make the eyes a little more real.

I struggled a lot with this assignment, but I think it turned out okay. Overall, it needs work, but I'm also pleased.

ADAMS: DRAW 2: Something that Interests You

Materials Used: Colored pencils and a pen.

I wanted to draw a girl holding an animal because I need more work on animals and I thought this was a good way to practice.

ADAMS: Monochromatic Painting

Materials Used: Water mixable oil paint.

I didn't use a reference for this. I made it up from my mind. I wanted to show a forest and I thought using the light to dark technique would be good for this assignment and for this piece I wanted to achieve depth.

ADAMS: Van Gogh Inspired Watercolor

 Materials Used: Tape, watercolor pencil, basic watercolors.

I wasn't sure exactly what to do at first, but I knew I wanted to do some water and a starry sky. I'm pleased with how it turned out. If I were to change anything I would work harder on the sky next time.

Week 3: Something that Interests You

Materials Used: Pencils, Colored Pencils, Pen, and watercolors.

I really love pretty dresses(I also love to sew) and since I was young I've liked princesses. So that's what I decided to go with! I really liked how it turned out. If I were to improve something it would be the hair. I would add more depth and texture.

Week 2 Watercolor

Materials Used: Watercolors, watercolor pencil.

I like a lot of the colors I used they make me feel really happy. If I were to change this piece to improve it I would add more depth by adding darker colors in the  front and lighter colors towards the back.

First Post

There was no art assignment this week that required me to draw, but I went ahead and drew something anyways. :)

I'm looking forward to art this semester. I hope to really improve my skills and become a better artist!
